Americano or Mexicano?
Americano: a new partner every round
The whole schedule is fixed before the first ball. Everyone plays with as many different partners as possible and meets different opponents. Each player collects the points their team wins; the best average per match wins. If everyone played the same number of matches, that is simply the highest total.
Mexicano: rounds follow the standings
Round 1 is a draw. After that, the top four of the table play on court 1, 1st and 4th against 2nd and 3rd, and so on down the courts. Matches get closer as the event goes on. If two of them were partners in the previous round, the tool switches to 1st and 3rd against 2nd and 4th, or 1st and 2nd against 3rd and 4th.
How the generator keeps it fair
When the courts hold everyone (or exactly one player sits out per round), the generator uses balanced tables, known as whist tables, for 4, 5, 8, 9, 12, 13 and so on up to 32 players: with 8 players, 2 courts and 7 rounds, everyone partners every other player exactly once and faces them exactly twice. Otherwise, whoever has sat out least sits out next and, as long as fewer than half the players rest, nobody sits out two rounds in a row; then repeated partners and opponents are kept to a minimum. If match counts differ, the table ranks by average per match.
Points, time or games
Every rally is one point and the two team scores add up to the total, for example 15–9 in a 24-point match. Common totals are 16, 21, 24 and 32; you can also pick 18 or your own number. Prefer to play by the clock? Choose timed rounds with a round timer, or count games as in tennis doubles.

Questions about Americano
What is a padel Americano?
A social padel format where you change partner every round. Each match is played to a fixed number of points (or for a set time), and every player keeps the points their team scores. At the end, the best average per match wins; if everyone played the same number of matches, that is simply the player with the most points.
What is the difference between Americano and Mexicano?
In Americano the full schedule is set in advance and you rotate through partners. In Mexicano only the first round is drawn; every next round groups players by the current standings, so players of a similar level meet.
How many players and courts do I need?
At least 4 players and 1 court. The generator handles up to 32 players and 8 courts. If the players don’t fill every court, the others sit out in turn, and the tool shows how many rounds give everyone the same number of matches. If match counts still differ, the table ranks by average per match.
How many rounds and points should we play?
A common plan for 8 players is 7 rounds, so everyone partners everyone once. Time the first round and adjust: fewer points per match leave room for more rounds. You can also play timed rounds: set the minutes and the round timer counts down.
How are ties broken?
By average points per match, then share of matches won, then head-to-head if the tied players met as opponents, then points in their last match. In timed or game-based events, the difference per match comes before head-to-head. Players who are still level share the place.
Can we play Team Americano or tennis doubles?
Yes. For fixed pairs, choose Team Americano: write partners on consecutive lines and every pair meets the other pairs. Choose tennis to count games instead of points, with an optional round timer.
What if a player has to leave during the event?
Open Substitutes and withdrawals. A substitute takes over the place and the points so far. A player who withdraws leaves from the first round without scores, the remaining rounds are rebuilt and the table ranks by average, so nobody falls behind because of sit-outs. In Team Americano, use a substitute.
Is my data saved?
There is no account and no server: names and scores are stored only in the page link. Copy the link to keep the event or send it to the players. Scores you enter change your link, so share it again after the round.
Can I print the schedule?
Yes. Print gives a clean A4 page with every round, court and score box, plus the current standings.
